WHO WE ARE
This is Our Story
As alumni of St. Paul's School, we launched the 2020 Society because there comes a time when enough is enough. That time was the summer of 2020, at the convergence of the Black Lives Matter movement, and the publishing of Lacy Crawford's memoir, Notes on a Silencing. The Society was started by form members of the SPS class of 1991, who almost 30 years later were horrified to discover that it was students of our form who perpetrated the attack on Lacy. And now, in 2020, it's time to do something to rectify the past and improve the future. We can no longer turn a blind eye.
We believe there is one phenomenal asset we all share — our innovative and intelligent community of people. Our goal is to cultivate this asset for good and use it to foster an environment of kindness and support at SPS and beyond. Those who have been othered, victimized, silenced, or marginalized—You. Are. Not. Alone.
