Update on SPS Independent Compliance Overseer from the NH Department of Justice
12/23/2020

The NH Department of Justice recently released an update on the agreement with St. Paul's. Here are the highlights:
- SPS has yet to fill the vacant Independent Compliance Overseer position left by Jeff Maher's departure in October. The DOJ has urged the school to identify and hire a replacement prior to the students returning from winter break in January 2021 and requested that SPS provide the names of three qualified candidates by December 30th, 2020. St. Paul's provided those names on December 19th.
- The attorney general has requested that this school hire an additional person to support the work of the Independent Compliance Overseer and that both officers be indemnified by the school.
- The school has agreed to engage RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network to complete a comprehensive program assessment of the programs and procedures as they pertain to student safety.
- The Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire will not provide an on-campus advocate until a new Independent Compliance Officer has been named.
